Bryan’s Final Expenses and Other Financial Needs

Donation protected

For those who don’t know me I’m Jordan, Sabrina’s cousin, also known as Uncle Jordan to Bryan and Gracie. I’m not one to usually ask for help, but this family is in dire need right now of financial help due to unforeseen circumstances.

Tuesday, May 17, 2022 Sabrina, Bryan, and Gracie were in a head on collision. Sabrina and Gracie were transported to Duke hospital by ambulance while Bryan was life flighted.

Sabrina suffered injuries to her mouth and a concussion, she also had to have surgery on her mouth. She is currently in the hospital recovering from surgery.

Gracie (6 years old) also suffered injuries to her face. She has facial fractures and a swollen eye. She also had to have surgery yesterday May 19, 2022 on her nose to pop a bone into place so that it would heal correctly. She is recovering well, and was discharged. She is currently with my mother Roberta. She doesn’t remember much on the accident and isn’t fully aware of Bryan’s situation as this will be broken down and explained in strides.

Bryan (4 years old) suffered the worst of the injuries. When he arrived at Duke he went straight into emergency surgery. Bryan suffered from traumatic brain injuries and internal bleeding in the abdomen. He was placed on life support and we were told the next 24 hours would be crucial. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 we were told his blood pressure continued to drop so he was placed on several medications to help keep this up and help with blood clotting. His internal bleeding continued as well. Thursday, May 19, 2022, Bryan’s condition hasn’t changed. The doctors ran some neurological test on the brain to check for blood flow to the brain. All test pointed to no blood flow but they wanted to make sure with some final tests. Thursday evening his final tests came back and Bryan was pronounced brain dead. Sabrina has elected to donate his organs in hopes to save another life. He is currently still on life support to check all organs for donation and in the next day or two will be weaned off all meds and life support.

Bryan was such an amazing little kid with such a big heart. He was so full of life and loved by everyone he came across. He and Gracie had a close relationship and were best friends. They loved to play together and also annoy each other because well that’s what siblings are for. Bryan was a smart kid who enjoyed exploring and seeing what he could get himself into. Bryan also loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by so many but his spirit, love, and heart will live on forever in our hearts and memories.

This has been such a traumatic experience for Sabrina and the kids and our whole family. No parent/family ever expects to have to bury their/a child.

All donations made will go to Bryan’s final expenses, such as memorial service and any other unforeseen expenses for him. The donations will also go to helping with the care of Gracie and her needs. Lastly, the donations will help with all other financial expenses that may occur during this difficult time.

Any donation amount will help, no amount is too small. I understand that not everyone will be able to donate and that’s okay too, I just ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as this will be a very long road of recovery for all.
