Bryan's Fight against AML

Hi, my name is Lisa. 23 years ago I met Bryan. One of the most helpful people I've ever met. He often would spend time and resources helping those around him fix their problems, mostly mechanical, without expecting anything in return. In 2007, Bryan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Being the fighter that he is, has fought this disease with every ounce of his existence. Relying on medical professionals, friends, church, and the grace of strangers to fund his battle. Unfortunately, there are limits to the resources of the above-mentioned and so I am raising money to help them continue fighting this debilitating disease.

Let me quote his wife Janet, "Bryan, experienced a relapse of his AML cancer. There were some significant changes this time, and the road will not be as before.  His relapse happened at 3 years and 9 months post-transplant with complex cytogentics and a TET2 mutation, which is the one linked to Benzene exposure.

We feel so fortunate that medicine and the scientific community has improved treatment of Relapsed AML since he was first treated. The new combination of medicines, Venetoclax and Decitabine, are less intense which is amazing since, at this point, his body is unable to handle higher dose chemotherapy.  He had his first dose on August 2, 2021. A Bone Marrow Biopsy on August 27th didn't yield the results we had hoped for. The results indicated persistent disease."
