Bryan's Medical Fund

Bryan was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age 8.  His seizures were controlled with one medication for 10 years, then with one medication change; they were controlled for another 9 years.  In 2011, things drastically changed.  The seizures increased in frequency and severity and his neurologist was unable to get them totally under control even with trying numerous medications.  All of this greatly affected Bryan's job and he was faced with many challenges.  Bryan then underwent surgery to implant a device called a Vagus Nerve Stimulator to help control his seizures.  The first implant malfunctioned, so almost a year later underwent a second surgery, but the seizures have continued.  He is currently on four seizure medications, unable to work, and has been on long term disability off and on for the past several years.  He is now faced with the loss of his job and with filing for permanent disability.  Bryan recently found new hope in a new implant that was FDA approved in late 2013, the RNS, Responsive Neuro Stimulator.  Bryan will be hospitalized in the next few months for testing and monitoring to determine if he is a candidate for this implant.  He is now faced with significant medical expenses.  Bryan has a beautiful daughter who will turn 2 years old in July.
