Bryan Salter's Ear Surgery
Donation protected
Hey, my name is Bryan Salter! Many of you know by the way I look and sound, that I have some rather unique anatomy, and that extends to my left ear.
For my entire life, I’ve had ventilation tubes placed in my eardrum to make sure I can hear properly. It also keeps fluid from building up behind the eardrum, making it a crucial part of my health. Sadly, the current tube I’ve had for several years has now come loose, and isn’t working anymore. This has caused significant discomfort for me, and it’s simply time for me to get the ear tube replaced with a new one.
In fact, my doctor hopes to dilate what’s called the eustachian tube behind my eardrum in an attempt to make sure this problem never happens again. However, this has always been a rather costly procedure, and even with my current health insurance plan, the amount of money I’d have to pay to get this done would reach dangerously into my savings.
The estimated cost of this surgery (not counting hospital fees, which’ll be determined later) is going to be about $2900. I’ve tried taking on some more freelance work, and I've been selling some of my belongings, but I just don’t think can realistically do all of this by myself.
Therefore, I've started a fundraiser with an even $3000 goal. I should be able to cover anything else after that on my own, but this hefty amount is not something I feel safe in spending without it having long-term effects on how I can support myself.
I'll be keeping this fundraiser open for about a month. Any and all donations are appreciated, no matter the amount. Regardless, I’m eternally grateful to you all.
