On November 29th Keith had open heart surgery to perform three by-passes. Because of major complications, they were only able to complete one by-pass (the most dire) and quickly repair an issue that arose during the surgery (which almost cost his life). Keith spent several weeks in ICU following the surgery with the hopes of regaining enough strength to have stints placed in the remaining two blockages. He was moved to a regular room about a week ago and things were looking good. Then on Monday December 13th Keith developed pneumonia in both lungs and was moved back to ICU. Wednesday he was put on a ventilator and feeding tube because his oxygen levels were just too low and he was getting weaker.

As of Thursday December 16th his doctor said that his body is shutting down and there is nothing more that can be done for him in Tyler. They are looking at getting him moved to a Dallas hospital where hopefully more options will be available.

Keith has been a member of the Saulsbury family since September 2013.
