Bryan Erb: ALS Van Fundraiser
Donation protected
2020 was a really tough year for a lot of people, but especially so for the Erb family. Cathy Erb is not only a colleague of mine, but also a dear friend. In March, Cathy’s husband, Bryan, was diagnosed with ALS. As you probably know, the outlook for this disease is pretty grim. There is currently no cure for ALS. The other sad reality is that the progression of this disease is aggressive and hard on not only the patient, but for the family (Bryan and Cathy also have two children, Ryan and Elizabeth). If you know anything about insurance, you know that with all of the intensive therapies, care, visits, and adaptive necessities, the bills accumulate quickly. Bryan and Cathy need to start transitioning their house, vehicles, furniture, etc. in order to physically accommodate Bryan in the future. In talking with Cathy, she had stated that one of the larger purchases the family will need to make will be a handicapped van. These vehicles are not cheap, even in used condition. They say it takes a village, so here I am, just a simple village member, trying to make something happen. Let’s help this family out, so that their worrying can be focused on what really matters; making the most of the time they have left as a family.
