I was pretty sure that 2021 had to be better than last year but it’s proven to not be the case.

Matt started having trouble swallowing food the end of January. His doctor acted quickly with X-rays, scans, and blood work due to his extensive fire fighting history.

On March 2nd we received his results back that he has what is called an Andenocarsinoma. On the 16th it was confirmed as gastric andenocarsinoma (stomach cancer). Due to metastasis and node involvement he was put at a stage 4 non surgical at this point. He got his chemo port put in today and starts his first round of chemo on the 5th. We are waiting back on blood work to determine if he can also include immunotherapy as well.

It’s going to be a long battle that we are determined to fight tooth and nail. Nothing but surrounding ourselves with Positivity is an option. Facebook has this amazing benefit to it. We can ask for prayers, positive thoughts, good vibes etc from so many of the people in our lives with one post and know that it will help. That’s what we need. We need a village.

let’s come together as a community and help finances not be another stressor.  The will need to pay for cobra on top of regular bills. Let’s bless a family that helps everyone else in the lake community.  I willbe dispersing it as needed for medical insurance and bills and anything else that comes up along the way as well as making sure there’s groceries in the fridge and kids have what they need so Sandy can focus on Matt.
