Hope for Lindsay

Hi All - My name is Alex and I am raising money on behalf of my Aunt Lindsay. To those of you who know me, you know that all of my aunts and uncles have lived with me at some point or another and my aunts specifically are more like my older sisters. They each have helped shaped me to be the woman I am today and filled in all the gaps of playing a mother figure after my mom passed. To be so far away while my family is going through something so terrible, is extremely difficult, and so the least I could do was to put this fundraising effort together to help out.
For those of you who know my Aunt, she has been through a courageous battle of Stage 4 Lung Cancer over the last couple of years and recently received news last month that she was cancer free. We were all relieved to hear the news as she has been tirelessly working full time while going through chemo/radiation treatments while also leaning on her faith through this challenging time. Lindsay has persevered through much adversity both through her diagnosis as well as in life and we have been so proud to see what God has done over the last few years with a little bit of prayer and hope.
On Monday morning, my aunt was driving her daughter to school and had a strong feeling that something was not right and had the urge to pull over. When she pulled over, she couldn't speak and lost some feeling in her limbs and was rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival to the hospital, she found out she had had a seizure. Our family then received the devastating news that her cancer had metastasized to her brain and formed a tumor that ultimately caused the seizure she had earlier that day.
As we work with my aunt's team of doctors in creating a treatment plan, we know that my aunt has a big battle ahead of her both medically and financially. With having the seizure, she will not be able to operate a vehicle for a minimum of 3 months and will also be unable to work as she goes through intensive radiation treatment and possible surgery.
This comes as a huge blow as she is also a single mother of two, with many bills starting to pile up both day to day as well as the upcoming medical bills that she will be receiving from all of her treatments. Our family will absolutely rally around her to support her in not only raising Kaylie and Chelsea, but also helping with transportation of the girls and Lindsay to any appointments/procedures/etc., however we are calling on our community to help support financially during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are called upon helping our family out, our family truly appreciates any and all help (and prayers!) both financially as well as spiritually.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this as well as your prayers for Lindsay through her treatments to come.
