Hello Internet.

My name is Brutus, and I am the goodest boy, but I’m in bad shape.

Something awful happened Friday 2020-09-11. My sister and I found a hole in the fence that we could squeeze through, so we went for a run. Somebody in a car hit me and didn’t stop or call anyone for help. I laid in the road until the kind people of animal control finally came to my rescue.

By that time, I had already suffered a severe case of heatstroke. On the way to hospital, my tearful mum had to perform CPR just to keep me going.

I’ve now been in hospital for days and it’s been tough. I had brain swelling and have required glucose, platelets, and transfusions because I got what the doctor's called 'DIC'.

This is costing mum and dad an awful lot. They told the hospital that there’s no dollar amount that could cause them to give up on me because they love me too much. I can’t wait to get well and go home to be with them, my sister puppies (Lucy, Penny) and sister kitties (Pumpkin, Sophie).

We know that there’s a global pandemic and that many people are struggling right now. We’re not asking for help from anyone who isn’t in a good place to chip in. But if you can help, the doctors have estimated that my care is going to cost $50,000-$75,000 by the time I get to go back home. 

We're deeply grateful if you can even spare just a few dollars.  This, really, is a lot more than mum and dad can muster; they say that they just can't give up on a goodest boy who would never give up on them.

We promise that if we receive any money beyond the cost of my care, we will be certain that it goes to help other goodest boys and girls who are in need.
