2019 Brute Force Robotics Team 2240

Our robotics team, known as Brute Force, was founded in 2007. We are an extracurricular competitive team at the Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST), Stapleton Campus. DSST is an open-enrollment STEM charter school with a student population of 70% minority and 50% low income, and our accomplishments are impressive. DSST has ranked as the #1 high school in Denver for ACT scores every year while open and 100% of graduates have been accepted to a 4-year college for 10 years running.

Our mission at Brute Force is to inspire high-school students from a variety of backgrounds to pursue science, technology, engineering and math careers through experiential projects that foster collaboration and teamwork. Although we enjoy the competition and work to win, we’ve discovered that the journey is the most important. We also seek to branch out our successful robotics program to other schools that do not have robotics programs, and helped begin robotics teams at the DSST Byers Middle School, the DSST Cole High School, and the DSST Green Valley Ranch High School.
