Brutal attack caused my friend to be in ICU

Michael Long, a friend of mine from the neighborhood growing up, was brutally attacked this past Saturday at Lower Banner Park near his home in Lee's Summit.  Micheal is currently in intensive care due to this terrible act of violence. Micheal lives with and helps take care of his mother, as she is in poor health herself.   His mother, Vicki, said that Micheal was at the park about 8:00pm on Saturday and just called to tell her that he would be up in about 10 minutes.   He never returned that evening which is totally unlike Michael.   After his mother tried numerous times to reach him by phone, she contacted the Lees Summit Police Department on Sunday.   The police were able to locate Michael.   Michael was found unconscious and barely breathing in a wooded area near the park.  He had no clothes on with bruising and scratches everywhere including the bottom of his feet.  The doctors have said that be was not sexually violated.   His body was so cold that the hospital had to run warm water through his kidneys and bladder to bring his temperature up.   The person or person's that did this to Michael also stole his wallet, cell phone,  keys to a rental truck, and both of his hearing aids that he has to have in order to hear.  He is currently in ICU at Centerpoint Hospital and has a long road ahead of him.   He has not been awake since the attack.   The hospital has him sedated and on a breathing machine.   He has recently developed a fever and they are fearing him getting pneumonia.

I have been in contact with Michael's mother, Vicki, to make sure it was okay to set up this Go Fund Me page.   She approved. All money raised will go directly to her & Michael.   The bills alone from ICU are going to be insane, but Michael will also need to replace both hearing aids which are approximately $3,000 each. Any donation small or large is greatly appreciated.
