Bruno's Chance at Life
Donation protected
Hi, I'm KT and I'm fundraising for our childhood dog. Bruno is only 6 yo and we adopted him from a lemon farm unintentionally. We've raised him as one of our siblings; if you know us, many would know our family is not-so-normal and growing up was challenging. But having Bruno with us got us through, as cliche as it sounds as pet owner, a dog's love was strong enough to help all of us individually. Now that I am 22, I'd want to give Bruno the life he deserves. I don't believe this is the end just yet.
Bruno has an unknown tumour floating inside him that is causing internal bleeding that will eventually congest, leading Bruno to a slow painful death. The vets assume it is a cancerous tumour hence the continuous bleeding and needs to be removed. However, they first need to conduct a CT scan ($4k approx.) to determine it's origin and location inside Bruno's body. Once located, a surgery ($6k-10k approx) will then need to be operated to remove it. Vets predict that his healing will be very hard, so he will need all the care and attention post-operation ($5k approx).
The prices were estimated with the Mackay vets, as they advised as the scan and operation are only available in Brisbane, so my brother and I are determined to drive 12hrs for Bruno this week.
Our Dad is already working very hard to get by with debt and barely has $5k to spend. My brother is full-time restaurant manager; our youngest is only in Gr10 and I am a uni student with a casual job. So please, I'm trying to get all the help we can get.
As of now, nobody else in the family is taking initiative on taking on the next steps for Bruno, so this is where I will start.
