Bruno Needs Us. Please Help Cover His $5,500 Surgery
Tax deductible
My name is Karen Kelly and I’m a volunteer for Clayton County Humane Society in Jonesboro GA. Recently, I received a call about an injured dog. I learned that the dog, a 9-month old shepherd mix, had been hit by a car and sustained a serious injury to one of his legs. His owner did not get him the vet care he so desperately needed. Instead, he put a wrap around the injured leg to create a makeshift cast. A concerned neighbor stepped in knowing that this was not an adequate solution for the dog, named Bruno, and he was suffering in pain. I learned his owner kept the dog outside where he just wandered around the neighborhood. Bruno had never been taken to a vet for vaccines and proper care. We at CCHS stepped in and got Bruno to our vet, Hudson Bridge Animal Hospital in Stockbridge GA. They examined him and determined he had multiple fractures that would require specialized surgery. They made a referral to Northlake Veterinary Surgical Hospital in Clarkston GA so we could take him for a consultation with their surgeon. They did the surgery today, June 17, so that he could begin to heal
properly. The total cost came to $5,500. CCHS is asking for donations for Bruno so they can pay the bill for his surgery. We’re a small, but, dedicated animal rescue. We host several fundraisers every year to raise the much-needed funds to support our work in rescuing animals. We take in the young and the old, the injured and the sick, and the many animals surrendered and also abandoned at our door. It requires a lot of work. However, it is our passion. We love them all. Please consider making a monetary donation to CCHS. No amount is too small, after all, it takes a village. Thank you!
