Bruce passed away on November 13, 2023, his wife Janet by his side. Any additional GoFundMe support will be used for Bruce's end of live requests and medical expenses from hospital stays and treatment dating back to 2019 when the cancer and a large tumor were first diagnosed. Many folks know that Bruce was re-diagnosed with Stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma in 2022 after being in remission for two years. He underwent chemo for many months and has been in and out of hospitals navigating serious bacteria infections as side effects from the treatment and cancer. He is currently staying at Cerenity Senior Care Center in White Bear Lake, where he has been receiving excellent help from a team of nurses and staff who care deeply for him and where Janet and his family can visit. Unfortunately, with his health rapidly declining, Bruce made the difficult decision for forgo intervention care and he entered hospice at the end of October. His health insurance with Medicare will cover his hospice treatment but not his room and board at Cerenity, which is almost $400 a day. It would be dangerous and difficult to transport him home. Because of his health neither he or Janet have been working full time and the room and board will have to be paid out of pocket. Additionally, his treatment from previous issues related to the cancer resulted in significant medical bills that were not covered by insurance. We invite you to help support Bruce's medical expenses, including room and board at Cerenity, while he transitions from this journey to the next.
