Four weeks ago Bruce started to be in pain.. no one knew what was going on.. after being prescribed some Gout meds by his doctor he was told they would help which they didn’t. After spiking a high fever and started to be in the worse pain of his life he went to an ER by his house.. after the few tests they did on him he was sent home with some meds and no answers. One week later he could not move and his wife Anne called the ambulance and he was on his way to the hospital. His whole family was in heart ache and panic when they had to wait for him to be admitted so they could see him. His son Joe and his Daughter Christina could not believe what was going on and we felt as though we were in a nightmare and still are.

After being admitted, they found he had kidney failure.. he also had a UTI and a Staph infection in his blood. How could this be.. how could this be happening to a man we love so much and need in our lives. After a day, he was admitted into the ICU.. he was so weak and in so much pain he could not even swallow and he could not talk. We kept reminding him to fight and we still do . He is not done living, we all know that.. he loves his grandkids more than anything in the world and they love him just as much.. he has done incredible things for his family and we need him back. We remind him about baseball, which is his passion and being able to watch the boys grow just like he always wanted. They are his best friends.

He is still fighting everyday. My mother, forementioned Anne has not left his side in over three weeks, and even after he leaves the hospital - which we pray for everyday - he will still need medical attention on a daily basis as they will have his antibiotics through an IV for many months after he gets back on his feet. He will need physical therapy, a controlled diet and he will have to have a nurse every day looking after him.
We want to raise money for this man who has never asked for any help in his life, but when his kids, or anyone for that matter needed him he was there to help them and protect them no questions asked. My mother Anne who has worked hard her whole life has had to be out of work now for a few weeks and counting, and with my father in the hospital it has really been tough on them physically, emotionally, mentally and financially.
Now is a time for us to give back to this man and his wife who as always been there for him. He has made an impact in everyone’s life he has met and we are hoping his story will as well. He is not done living, and we will not leave his side during this battle. I am asking you to help my family fight for his way back home by donating. May God bless you for your generosity and prayers!
