Bruce Taws Medical Expenses

On February 16th, Bruce Taws suffered a major stroke. He was rushed to the hospital, and thankfully received medicine that no doubt saved his life. He has a very long road to recovery ahead of him, and has suffered tremendous memory loss. We are praying that as his brain heals, he will be able to slowly get back that which he has lost, but it’s going to take time. If you aren’t familiar with Bruce, he has been teaching in Bay County schools for close to 40 years. He has taught both Drama and English during that time, and has loved each and every student he has come across. Though he can’t remember much, he has been very concerned about his students this entire time. He has a big heart, and if you’ve ever met Bruce, you know just how much he loves people and loves teaching. We are asking for some financial help to provide relief for his wife and him during this time. They are looking at lots of hefty hospital bills in the future, along with other expenses to aid in his recovery. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated and would mean the world to both Bruce and his wife Mary Vickie. They are humble people who would never ask for help, and yet, both would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it.

Mr Taws has touched the live of so many students in his 40 years of teaching that we hope we can give back to him!

Mr. Taws has given so much of himself to his teaching and his directing over the years. He always puts his heart and soul into each and every show and works harder than anyone I’ve ever known. He is more than just a teacher to his students. He’s a mentor, a guiding light, a support system, a safe place, and a friend. He taught me so much about theater, but he taught me even more about life. I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am today without him. The entire Taws family is so special to me and I know they would never ask for help themselves, but this is going to be an incredibly long and difficult journey so they’re going to need all the help they can get. -Caitlin M

Mr Taws opened me up to the theatre world giving me a safe place to land all of high school and beyond. He loves his students and the Lord so fiercely and has opens his heart and his home to me and so many other students. His humor and light has made a lasting impression on the theatre community in Panama City. we love him so much and want to show him how a community that he has shown up for time and time again will show up for him too!
