Bruce Speight Memorial Fund

We are devastated to share that Bruce Speight passed away on September 20.  He was an amazing friend, husband, father, brother, and  son loved by all. He leaves behind his wife, Heidi, and their two sons, Sylvan, 9, and Wyatt, 6.  He fought an 18 month battle with cancer.  

Bruce was a relentless optimist and his presence in our lives will be sorely missed.  

For over twenty years, Bruce devoted his life’s work to making the world a better place.  Bruce served as the state director for Environment Washington, an organization dedicated to environmental conservation, protecting endangered species, and promoting clean energy.  

Bruce was a natural leader, and played a pivotal role in the larger national movement to advance the public interest and strengthen American democracy, as the director of WISPIRG, Massachusetts Community Water Watch, and Wisconsin New Voters Project.

All the funds raised will go directly to his wife Heidi Blankenship to help with future expenses. Our wish is that Heidi and their boys will be less burdened by finances in the midst of their grieving and all that comes with the life-changing tragedy of losing Bruce.
