Bruce Roger's suddenly collapsed while working his job of almost 30 years serving at Boone's Long Lake Inn in Traverse City, Michigan. He fell and the repercussions have been debilitating. On April 20th, Bruce suffered a contusion of his spinal cord from the fall, resulting in significant loss of mobility in his limbs. Grateful to still be with us, and mentally in good spirits, Bruce is now beginning a long road to recovery. After time in ER and ICU and the ensuing tests, he underwent C3-C7 spinal cord surgery; in hopes of further prevention he also surgically received a heartmonitor. This totals to a 15 day stay at Munson Medical Center. Now, still in a C Collar since his admission, he is currently admitted at Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids where he is re-learning basic functions such as simply standing without aide, feeding himself, making a fist, etc.
