Bruce Mace was a amazing man that would help anyone with anything. He passed into the next stage of exsistence far too soon. His departure will leave a void in the lives of all those that knew him.
Bruce underwent a double knee replacement Tuesday November 22nd, 2016, he chose this week to limit his time away from work as much as possible by incorporating the Thanksgiving Holiday into his recovery. Surgery went relatively well (those that knew Bruce can associate with the relativity of it). He was able to come home from the hospital Friday, though in a lot of pain. He went back to the hospital Sunday night due to some concerns about a potential blood clot, but was released early Monday. As he was resting Monday afternoon with Kelly periodically checking on him, she found him unresponsive and was unable to wake him. An ambulance was called and he was rushed to Pioneer Valley Hospital. This was a rough trip for him and his heart stopped multiple times. He was admitted to the ICU and remained there until family and friends could gather to say their goodbyes. Thursday afternoon about 3:40 he passed on from this life in the midst of those whom he loved.
As you can imagine this has caught everyone off guard, especially Kelly and their family. Though there is likely some benefits, I think that sometimes we all feel the need to help where we can. Sometimes it is emotionally, other times it is physically, and sometimes it is monetarily. We have set up this site to help offset some of the costs associated with the passing of Bruce. This is the last thing that Kelly and family need to worry about at this time.
We will let this run till December 11th.
I have known and worked with Bruce since 1991. He has always been a very hard-working dedicated member of the Rocky Mountain Recycling team. The last few years, in working very closely with him, I have realized what a special person he is. He would randomly call me and thank me for his job and giving him a place to work with so many people he considered his family. His loyalty, dedication, honesty, and amazing work ethic made my life and job so much better. I'm grateful to have known Bruce and look forward to seeing him again someday.
As a company, Rocky Mountain Recycling will be matching all donations up to a maximum of $7,500 which gets us half way to the $15,000 goal.
I'll thank you all in advance for your generosity, I know Kelly will be so grateful.
