Our friend, Bruce Farris passed this week with his beloved family at his side. As an educator, Bruce had an outsized impact on emergency medicine. With his 31 year career at Oklahoma City Community College, he taught hundreds if not thousands of EMTs and Paramedics who went on to provide care in many Oklahoma communities and beyond. His students also became nurses, doctors and administrators carrying with them the lessons he freely shared. Therefore, it only seems fitting that a memorial scholarship be established in his name to continue his work after his last call. All donations will be used to continue his mission by providing financial support for selected students in EMS and Allied Health programs at OCCC. We will honor Bruce with a memorial service on September 27, 2025 at 1 pm in the Performing Arts Atrium at Oklahoma City Community College.
