Bruce E. Easley 7/11/1948 - 5/15/2018. Loved by Many Forever and Always. "Never Give Up, Never Surrender!"
This is a GoFund Me account (created by his loving children Leif, Derek and Angelique) towards Dad's Memorial but mostly towards Mom's care. Our Mom Becky Easley and Dad would've had their 40th wedding anniversary this year on June 30th! Mom has dementia/alzeimer's and has been through so much, she is now doing fairly well at home in the excellent care of my brother Derek and his amazing fiance Megan.
We thank all of our many friends and family for the support you've given us through this difficult time. Dad lives on through us and we feel his presence with us everyday. Mom is hanging in but we are all having a hard time missing his joyful spirit of course. Remembering his laugh and clever quips never cease to bring a smile to our faces! Dad touched so many hearts at Long Beach Memorial being an RN for over 38 years, literally saving lives and caring for countless patients, colleagues and friends. As a father and husband, he was undoubtedly the most supportive, patient, loving and fun there could ever be. Words just cannot express. We are so blessed to have a lifetime of memories, lessons and incredible experiences together with him!
Dad's Memorial is Sunday 7/15 at 12noon at the Harborview Clubhouse and Park in Huntington Beach. If you have not received an invite already please contact me directly (Angelique). Per Dad's wishes he was cremated with the Neptune Society and will be as rest in our family home at the River along with his father Red Easley and brother Duane Easley.
We are asking for any donations you would like to contribute towards Moms care and the Memorial rather than flowers or gifts. We are expecting well over 100 hundred guests at his Memorial! We have a part time caregiver that comes in to relieve Derek and Megan usually 3 times a week which costs about $300 weekly. Mom also has many Doctor appointments, in house physical/occupational therapy, medications, medical supplies/durable medical equipment and of course living expenses (including the rent and utilities for their 3 bedroom home in Huntington Beach) after no longer receiving their full social security benefits. Our goal is to keep her in the comfort of her own home as long as possible, avoiding another stay at the skilled nursing facility (she was admitted for over 3 months after her repeat TIA in November, which she had a very difficult time with). It is most important to us that with her medical condition we keep her as happy and carefree as possible avoiding any further stress. We ask that if you would like, the best way to honor Dad would be to help ensure the wonderful care for his beautiful wife!
We sincerely thank you all for your kindness and would love to hear from you! We love seeing pictures of times passed and memories of you all with Dad. God bless and see you on 7/15!
