Around 2am, October 18, my parents lost their home. Thankfully, the smoke alarms woke them up, they saw and smelled smoke and were able to get up, grab a couple things and get out. They are safe and alive! They are still unsure of the cause, but will get to the bottom of it soon. Grateful that they have insurance and that process has begun. In addition, their vehicles were damaged by the fire as well. I am so thankful for the community around them who are pitching in with a roof over their head, vehicles and support where needed. They are loved.

Already, several have reached out and asked how to help. With so many of you spread around, this GoFundMe seemed like the best way to offer an opportunity to do so. They got out with the clothes on their back, a phone and a collection of the important documents. Other than that, they lost it. As you can imagine the costs of starting over, especially in the immediate days ahead, add up quickly.
