Bruce Block Recovery Support
BREIF (3/14):
Bruce is stable and is at Saint Lukes in Duluth at the ICU where he was taken by ambulance yesterday (3/13). He has been diagnosed with Influenza A and double lung pneumonia. It is possible he has Lung Fibrosis. He is on oxygen, they are monitoring his heart with an echo-gram and is now able to eat small amounts of apple sauce and fluids. He has very little energy as breathing is very labored and he unable to leave bed. He is currently accompanied by his wife, Pam Block, receiving check ins by his brother Ray Block and is in very good hands at Saint Lukes.
Currently visits and phone calls are not admitted as he has very little energy and lung capacity; and Influenza is very contagious.
The estimated recovery time could be weeks on oxygen, and afterwards we will see how affected his lungs are.
The family's highest priority is getting bruce better, but we are also concerned about how long he will be out of work with the addition of medical bills.
Any financial support will be greatly appreciated and every little bit helps.
We will update if any other needs arise and thank this wonderful community for the support of our well loved Bruce Block.
