Bruce and Tina Johnson's Benefit fund

Donation protected
We do not have goal money wise that the go fund me site has made us put down. We have made this page because of so many of our loves ones have asked where to send money to. We as a family did not know what to say or where to have it sent. We have so much support it's incredible, thank you. We now have two options if you would like to send a donation; this page, or other options will be listed on our Facebook page and Caring Bridge page. Again, we do not want you to feel the need to donate anything, your love and support are appreciated enough from this family.

ALL DONATIONS WILL GO TO BRUCE (Dad) AND TINA (Mom) for medical bills, and living expenses while they are hospitalized. Again, thank you.

As most of us know already, Tina and Bruce were involved in a serious motorcycle accident Saturday morning involving a car at highway speeds. Tina was airlifted from scene to North Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Bruce was transported lights and sirens via ambulance to North Memorial in stable condition.

Tina was brought to the ICU Saturday afternoon intubated and on a ventilator. Tina has a subdural hematoma, multiple skull, facial and rib fractures. She also received an open femur fracture with arterial bleeding. She also has a tib/fib fracture. Yesterday the neurosurgeon placed a monitoring device that monitors the inter-cranial pressure in her brain. These numbers have been good since the device was placed. Later on last night she had surgery on her leg. Surgery went well and her leg has been externally fixed until they can place rods at a future date. Her vitals have all been within normal limits.
Tinas pupils are unequal and non-reactive at this point. They are performing neuro checks on her every hour. She is still in critical condition and not out of the woods yet.

Bruce came into the ER at North Memorial with a severe head laceration that requires 29 staples. He also has cervical spine and rib fractures. Bruce’s boot fell off upon impact and he has a gnarly ankle wound which needed surgery last night. Surgery went well and Bruce was placed in the Medical/Surgical floor. He is on continuous pain medication and was placed on oxygen last night. Bruce said he is excited about his sponge bath in the future and wants a damn cigarette.

Over the the course of last night Bruce’s oxygen levels had to be increased. They started at four liters and have been bumped up to ten liters to maintain adequate levels. The nurse practitioner called Nick this morning and said she was not comfortable with Bruce remaining on the Medical/ Surgical floor. So he is being moved to the ICU within the hour. The nurse practitioner told Nick the move is solely because of his decreased oxygen levels. His chest X-Ray looked good.

We appreciate all the love and support everyone has received. It doesn’t go unnoticed. Since the ICU is completely full Tina and Bruce both have “roommates” we are asking for immediate family only. They only allow two people in the room at a time.

We will continue to update as much as we can and please continue to pray for a road to recovery.
