Bruce & Jess Macdonald
To say this year has been rough for the MacDonald family is an understatement. Both Bruce and Jess have been struggling with health issues for a number of years and this year has been tough - less than 2 weeks ago on the 12th of August Jess had surgery which involved implanting a spinal cord stimulator to treat the complex regional pain syndrome Jess suffers with in hopes to better manager her chronic health conditions and give her a better quality of life. Jess's surgery was successful but will take some time for everything to settle, it is by no means a fix to her health concerns but will give her some normality. Meanwhile Bruce has been battling his own chronic health conditions with it all coming to a head on Tuesday 20th August 2019 when he collapsed in the shower. Bruce was paralysed from the waist down - a terrifying experience for this Dad of two. Bruce was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital - 6 hours from his home and family for emergency spinal surgery to try to repair a spinal compression - at this stage the future is uncertain - Bruce and Jess along with their children Bailey (12) and Maddi (6) are not ones to ask for help and would be much happier facing these challenges alone. They are the first people to offer their support and a helpful hand. Please help them in their journey by donating anything you can - every little bit will help their family with the ongoing medical expenses while Bruce is in hospital in Sydney and for his rehabilitation once he returns home to Dubbo.
