Bruce is a fantastic guy who was brutally attacked and beaten, without provocation, on Saturday, July 13th by an unidentified group of people. Bruce is a gentle giant who would never hurt anyone and would defend the weak or the helpless with his life! He was blindsided and kicked in the head and face, knocked unconscious, and then kicked more while he lay on the ground out cold. As a result of this inexcusable violence, Bruce suffered multiple fractures to his jaw bone which require surgery and implantation/fixation with a metal plate. He will need to have his mouth wired shut for at least one month post-surgery. Bruce had to cancel his long-planned trip back home to see his family and also sell his boat in order to prepare for ancillary costs for deductibles, co-pays, meds, and the like. While he does have insurance it's hard to predict what other costs there will be at this time. Also, it remains unknown if this will impact his job and ability to provide for himself? I really don't want to wait and see if it gets to that point.
Bruce is a hard working man who would never ask for help from anyone and I know he would flat out reject it if I directly offered him financial support. Therefore, I set up this page in an effort to get his many friends, or anyone else for that matter, to join me in supporting him through this time so he can recover quickly and not need to sell or give up anything else that's important to him. I tried to figure out how I could keep him from seeing this on social media, but I know that simply won't happen and he'll likely give me a stern lambasting for doing this. I'm lucky he's such a great guy or I'd have a matching 3D image. Bruce, when you see this, please understand, I love you man and I was simply compelled to do something to help you!
My goal is at least $ 3,000.00. If you can contribute to this fund before the middle of August that would be great! Anything helps, please; just the cost of one coffee or a round of drinks for friends is all I ask! I know money's tight and there're other people out there that have it so much worse, but this is about supporting a guy that I know to be genuine and caring for other people no matter who they are or where they come from so let's prove that there are more good people in this world than bad people!
