Hi my names Miranda. But this story is about my best fur friend Peanut.
10/4/23 we noticed our little furry baby was struggling to pee. We called our vet and got an appointment that afternoon. That suspected a UTI but wanted to take a urine culture just in case. Also put us on some antibiotics. Vet bill ($563)
10/5/23 I got a call from our vet saying they found crystals in peanuts urine. they suspected bladder crystals. They send us to the Er vet in town. So I left work early and right away went to bring my little man’s to the er. They did an ultra sound on him to find huge crystals in his bladder and urethra. They put in a catheter to pup the crystal back into the bladder. And let little man’s use the bathroom through the catheter. they sent us home for the night with a catheter surgically sewn in. We didn’t have money for the appointment but knew it had to get done. We ended up getting a donation from Hope fundraiser of $1,200. our vet bill ($300)
10/6/23 today at 10am we make our way back to the er for our emergency surgery. Plan was to go into the bladder and remove all the crystals. surgery started around 2pm and lasted for 2 and a half hours. But they were successful! They got out all the bladder stones. and as long as he’s able to pee and eat on his own he’s on track for coming home in the morning. Only problem is they quoted us $4,500-$5,500 in vet bills this time around. Through our gofundme we have made up quite a bit and we are thankful for everything people are willing to give.
If you’re unable to space a few dollars. Maybe think about sharing our gofundme.
we pick up my little peanut in the morning (10/7/23) and need as much help as we can get.
we were only charged $3,732 so I lowered the goal!
