Leaders of Tomorrow is the Black Student Union at Brownsburg High School. Students fought to get this group started in 2018 and have since been making an impact at their school. Our students are making history- they have been able to conduct an equity training for the entire BHS staff, be part of the Black Leadership Summit for area high schools, host our first ever Black History Month spirit week, and our first ever Black History Month event, Dunbar Cafe, where hundreds of students, staff, and community members were in attendance. Leaders of Tomorrow was also able to speak during the Brownsburg for Black Lives Assembly and lead their community in a courageous conversation about their experiences as students of color and the change they want to see.
We need your help to make an even greater impact next school year. We plan to develop Leaders of Tomorrow groups at the middle schools as well as visit and invest in our elementary schools. We plan to continue equity training for staff and students. We plan to develop an advisory council that meets regularly with administration to be sure that Brownsburg Schools is an equitable place for all students. We are looking for support and funding to be sure we are able to reach our students and community this coming school year. Thank you for your support!
