Brownie's Family Needs Our Help!

My name is Tiffany and I am a volunteer with Westside German Shepherd Rescue. As you know, Westside is a non-profit dog rescue who saves dogs from all over the U.S. They do everything they can to help deserving dogs like Brownie find loving forever homes.

4-month-old Brownie came to Westside GSR as a puppy from Kern County and was a staff favorite. He was so sweet and loving and appreciative of every pet he recieved. During our intake, we quickly discovered he was sick with parvovirus. Brownie had a strong will to live and thanks to their amazing staff, Westside was able to nurse Brownie back to health. They found him a loving foster home and knew he was destined to find a family who would love him as much as the staff and fosters did.

The day soon came where an amazing family brought their dog to meet Brownie. It was a perfect match. Brownie was going to have three girls to cuddle with and parents that adored him. What a lucky pup!

Shortly after Brownie got settled in his new home, the family began to notice his appetite was becoming poor and they decided to take them to their vet for a check up. The dreaded news came that little Brownie had Distemper. This poor pup had already overcome one deadly virus, now was faced with fighting another. This is such a preventable disease that would have been avoided if his original family would have just vaccinated him before leaving him at a shelter.

Brownie is still a fighter and is trying his best to overcome this horrible virus. The family has spent approximately $6000 doing everything they can to give Brownie the best chance to pull through. Their young daughter has built a strong bond with Brownie and comes daily to hand-feed him turkey. He is so loved!

Since Westside is a non-profit and adoptions are slow and people are relinquishing their dogs in record numbers, this isn't an expense they can cover. I wanted to reach out to all of the Westside GSR supporters, dog lovers, and those who have the kindness in their hearts to help this loving family cover some of the veterinary costs. They loved him so much right from the start that they didn't hesitate to do what it took to save his life. Now the bills are getting insurmountable.

Any help is so graciously appreciated. I have included the vet bills for your review so that you may see this is a valid plea.
