Brownie's Emergency Vet Visit

My name is Chih-Wei and I am fundraising to help with Brownie's emergency vet visit bill.

We adopted Brownie almost 13 years ago in 2011 from the Pomona Valley Human Society where I used to volunteer. She has been the best companion I could ever ask for. We went on many many adventures together and she has always been there for me when I needed a best friend.

On 12/11 around 11 pm, Brownie started breathing shallowly and acting out of characteristics. We took her to the emergency vet and waited the night there. While we were there, other families came and go. And one didn't have the funds to pay for the treatment quoted, and they had to say goodbye to their baby. We were privileged enough that I could put the bill on my credit card to worry about it later.

Her current diagnosis is pneumonia with fever and she's still on oxygen and IV. The full bill is likely to exceed the $6,791 ($5,791 + $1,000 deposit) they quoted when Brownie was admitted. As of now (12/13 1 pm), they recommended another night of stay, exceeding the high estimate (which pays for 48 hours). I have some emergency savings that I can use, but still will have about $3,000 gap left so I am asking for your help if you're in a place to do so.

We know Brownie is very old now, especially for her size. She also started losing motor function in her hind legs. We are planning that once she comes home, we will celebrate this last chapter of her life with her as comfortably as she can and be there for her, especially now, just like how she has been there for me her whole life!
