Brownie Mae's Urgent Liver Care

On March 9th, it had been two days since the little mommy (Brownie Mae) had eaten anything. She wouldn't even eat a treat. When she threw up bile, I called the ER and they told me to bring her in. For about 3-4 months prior to this, my primary vet and I had been working on treating what we thought was chronic pancreatitis. During this time, we were also seeing liver numbers up in her bloodwork, but nothing that seemed urgent at the time. They were initially at 165 and then went to 600. We figured it was all part of the chronic pancreatitis but were waiting to see if her new diet made a difference. By the time I got to the ER, they were unable to even read the numbers and had to dilute the little mommy's blood to get the reading - 1860. She was hospitalized overnight and transferred to a specialist the next morning. After many tests, she came home after three nights with 9 daily meds and 4 daily supplements. My kitchen is now a doggie pharmacy. We are now focusing all of our concerns on her liver and awaiting a liver biopsy that will give us many more answers. I put the payment for both the initial ER overnight stay (VEG) and the 2-night stay (Fetch) on my credit card - totaling almost $12,000. At the time, I didn't even question it. I was a wreck and thought she was going to die. It is now that I am humbly asking for help with these bills. The first from VEG (the initial ER visit) is $3,202 and the three day/two night stay at Fetch is $8,490. For those of you who don't know me, I am an animal lover, a vegan and I contribute monthly to The Humane League, Little Buckets Farm Sanctuary and Earthling Ed. I donate to any animal emergency relief fund I see posted on Facebook, even when I don't have it to give. I am hoping that kindness will come back to me now when I am in need. Brownie Mae was rescued in 2018 from horrific conditions with her partner in crime, Chip Chip, and their 4-week old puppies. She is only 7 and has so much more of a happy life to live.
