For the past 15 months, one of Matthew & Rebecca's children has been in hospitals and medical treatment facilities around the country to deal with a life-threatening illness. Their family of 6 has lived for months in separate states, piling up tens of thousands in medical debt and living expenses. Their insurance didn't cover several thousand dollars in medical costs, draining their savings. In addition, their child recently went back into the hospital and is expected to be there for several months before being transferred to another out-of-state hospital.

As their family ends one calendar year and looks to begin another very high deductible in January, they’re already under-water. Additionally, Matthew recently needed to step away from his job as a minister because he was no longer able to perform his work duties while taking care of the other children.
