"Brothers" Doc At Alpha Nat'l Conv
Donation protected
Eight years ago, I sat down with Zeta Pi Brother Ralph Franklin and we discussed producing a documentary that would chronicle his courageous journey with prostate cancer and hopefully save lives. I never knew the first life saved would be my own.
Unfortunately, Ralph lost his battle with the disease; however, I am still here to continue his legacy through the documentary project we started, “If You Are My Brothers.”
Thanks to a commitment from Mark Tillman, General President of Alpha Phi Alpha, we have been invited to attend the Fraternity’s 93rd General Convention two weeks from now, August 5 – 9, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brother Tillman has given us the opportunity to promote the project at the convention. However, to fully take advantage of this national exposure, it is imperative that we develop additional marketing and promotional materials (i.e. additional collateral materials, sponsorship packages, video presentations, the community outreach tool kit and much more).
Your donation enables us to have a presence each day at Convention’s exhibit hall and at the health expo on Saturday. This increased exposure to the thousands of Alpha brothers and their families attending the Convention will result in the funding needed to complete this life saving project.
Your small investment now will lead to big dividends down the road. We are asking you to support this effort by making a contribution that will garner tangible results and help launch the project during prostate cancer month in September of 2016.
Even with help from the General Office and my personal investment, we are still $2,500 short of covering the $6,000 exhibit, printing and material costs to maximize our presence at the General Convention…and there’s not much time left.
Once again, the Convention will put us front and center among individuals and companies who will have a vested interest in ensuring the completion of this seven-year documentary and community outreach project. It is important that we put our best foot forward.
At the convention, we will list all of our contributors…. letting everyone know that the “Brothers” presence at the National Convention is due to your support.
Thank you in advance for your financial support. If you will be attending the General Convention, please drop by the booth to see your donation in action and to learn more about “If You Are My Brothers” documentary and outreach project.
Fraternally,
