Brother Firefighter and Family need assistance

On behalf of W.T. Garner, we are coming to you, the community, to help our Brother Firefighter Melendez.

 

On February 20, 2022, two families were displaced due to a tragic fire in Wappingers. W.T. Garner Firefighter Josue Melendez's family was one of the two, and they lost all their belongings due to the smoke and fire damage.

 

As a community, we are grateful for the men and women who serve with us and for us as emergency responders. Josue Melendez is one of those individuals willing to serve day and night, to protect this community. He has served as a volunteer firefighter at W.T. Garner in the Village of Wappingers Falls for the last nine years. We want to band together as neighbors, and help this family in their time of need, as he has done for us.

 

There will be monetary donations that will go towards the family and replenishing all that they lost. We have the option to donate financially or on an item-specific basis.

 

If you are interested in donating specific items, here are some needs for clothing...

 

1. Male (22 years old): 30x32 pants, Shirts (Men's Medium), Shoes (Men's 10.5)

 

2. Male (15 years old): Pants (28x30), Shirts (Men's Medium), Shoes (Men's 10.5)

 

3. Female (13 years old): Girls size 14-16, Shirts (Women's Small), Pants (Women's size 3), Shoes (Women's 8)

 

4. Male (9 years old): Kids size 12, & Large, Shoe (Size 5)

 

5. Female: (2 months old) 3-6 months clothing

 

6. Male: Pants (32x30), Shirts (Medium), Shoe (Men's 9.5)

 

7. Female: Pants (12), Shirts (Large), shoe (Women's 9)
