Brother Charles "CJ" Junior

Charles "CJ" Junior has been a lot of things to a lot of people.

As a University of Georgia scholar and athlete, he helped to lead the Georgia Bulldogs to the 1981 National Championship. In addition, through his academic pursuits, he earned a degree from the University and continues to be employed by his beloved alma mater.

As a community leader, he is a mighty member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and the Fraternal Order of Masons (Prince Hall). In addition to his work with both organizations, he has always worked diligently to serve the community in any capacity in which he is needed.

For over 30 years, he has served as a mentor, coach, and role model for many boys and girls. As always is his way, lending a helping hand, a word of encouragement, and a positive message, comes as second nature to a brother that never meets a stranger and makes time for everyone.

If you call, he will always answer.

But as life would have it, CJ began to experience major medical issues this year that impacted his life and his continued service to others. At that time, he tried diligently to make the necessary changes to his diet and his exercise regimen. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough. Recently, CJ received the startling diagnosis that he has bladder cancer.

Due to the severity of the diagnosis, as well as the medical care associated with it to date, all of CJ's sick leave has been exhausted.

Now it is our time to answer his call.

Long term medical care is imminent and a return to work date is unknown. As he continues to attempt to ensure that his daily needs are covered during this unexpected time in his life, it is important that his brothers, sorority sisters, friends, co- workers, and well-wishers continue to support him by making a small donation that will have a big impact on his quality of life.
