Broom Green Drain Cleared by Local 15 Year Old
Donation protected
My son, Kieran, cleared the flooded bridge at Broom Green last night (9th January) by unblocking the drains. The water was still 2 ft deep at the edge (deeper in the middle) and unpassable. It had been closed for 5 days and was inconveniencing many people and adding time to their journeys.
My son wanted to do something to help. He attempted to clear the drain last Friday, but the water was so deep that he could not gain safe access to the drain. He had cleared the drains in the past when water was accumulating, so knew exactly where the drains were.
Many people have said that they would like to donate to a gratitude fund and having received a high number of messages requesting this, I have decided to set up this fund to make donating easier. I'd like to stress though that my son did not clear the drain for a reward, he did it to help the community.
