I am making this on behalf of our friends Brooks and Heather Campbell. Brooks was involved in a motorcycle accident on his way to work at the coal mine on July 27th. Brooks was flown to SLU with severe injuries to his entire lower body. He will need several surgeries, therapies, and ongoing medical treatment to get back to normal. The SLU doctor staff anticipates 7-8 months of non-weight bearing activity.

Brooks is the primary provider for his family and has a very long road to recovery. Doctors are unsure when he will be able to return to work.

Brooks is a Marine veteran who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

He has worked in the coal mines in Southern Illinois for over 14 years.
