Hi! My name is Brooklyn Modica, and I’m a student at Sacramento State studying Construction Management and Spanish with a minor in Business Administration. I joined InterVarsity Christian Fellowship my first year of college while searching for a Christ‑centered community, and I quickly found a home there. Since then, I’ve stepped into leadership as our chapter’s Treasurer, led Bible studies, and mentored two students who are preparing to take on leadership roles themselves. InterVarsity has deeply shaped my faith, and it’s been a joy to help others grow in theirs.

I’m going to Serbia because, at Urbana, God made it clear that He was inviting me to finally step into something I’ve long desired but was always too afraid to pursue. For years I held back from serving overseas because I clung to the comfort of familiarity, but God gently showed me that He wants to grow my trust in His protection and provision. On this trip, I hope to become bolder in sharing the gospel, deepen my dependence on Him, and learn from the way believers in Serbia worship and live out their faith. I’m excited to build cross‑cultural relationships and let God stretch me in ways that I know will shape my walk with Him for years to come.

We will be in Serbia from May 23 - June 21, a whole month! We will be trained in cultural and language exchange. We will partner with and support the Local Ministry that is serving college students in Serbia and sharing the Good News at college campuses. Our posture is to listen, live, and learn - what God is already doing in these communities. The funds raised will go towards travel, lodging, and program fees for this month-long missions trip, supporting me as I partner with local ministries and serve college students in Serbia.
