Update (1/5/2022): On behalf of Celi's family, we would like to share with you a message from them and also details of the upcoming funeral service arrangements. The funeral service will be open to the public and held at Joseph G. Duffy funeral home (255 9th Street, Brooklyn NY 11215) this upcoming Saturday, January 8th starting at 2:00PM.

Celie arrived to the U.S. in 1992 and has been a nanny ever since, working tirelessly towards sending her daughter Rahzel (22) to law school and providing her son Noah (12) with a quality education. Along with her partner Mike, she was selfless and sacrificed herself for the greater good. Celie was always happy and joyful as her children were her whole world! She just had a way of giving that everyone admired. Arcellie is survived by sisters Edda, Dora, Yolanda, Consuelo, Miriam, Lucita and Cennie and brothers George, Tito and Freddie. As a family we would like to thank everyone for all their generosity and prayers in this most difficult time. The outpouring of love and support has been astounding! God bless you all!

Update (1/1/2022): Sadly, Celi passed away yesterday as a result of her injuries. We are truly heartbroken by this loss of such a wonderful soul and know she is now watching down over us all. We have been humbled and overwhelmed by the amazing outpouring of love, support and kindness for Celi and her family. Thank you, again, to everyone.

We plan to keep this GoFundMe page open and active for contributions which will go towards assisting her family with medical costs and providing a measure of financial support and security for her children's future moving forward from this challenging time. For those whom have already contributed, thank you again and we humbly ask you consider please also sharing the GoFundMe link with others you may know to continue raising awareness for this cause. Our wonderful, loving nanny Arcellie (Celi) Muschamp was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with our son Rowan in Park Slope, Brooklyn on Monday, December 20th. They had been on a clearly marked crosswalk at the intersection of Union St & 5th Ave and correctly crossing with the pedestrian right of way but the vehicle failed to yield. Celi is currently hospitalized with critical injuries at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and we are seeking to raise funds to assist her family with costs related to her medical care and recovery. Our son Rowan was amazingly unscathed in the incident and based on eyewitness accounts Celi helped save him from almost-certain serious injury or death by pushing his stroller out of harm's way as the vehicle approached. The doctors have called it a miracle and Celi is truly our hero. She needs all of our prayers at the moment and if you are able to make a financial contribution of any sort it will go a long ways towards ensuring she receives the medical care she deserves. Celi is also a loving wife, mother, and sibling who has been a resident of the Park Slope neighborhood in Brooklyn for many years. Celis' husband Michael John is the planned beneficiary of these funds as he is coordinating and managing Celis' medical care and treatment.
