We make up the eight members of the 2023 MFA Acting Cohort at Brooklyn College. Thank you so much for checking out the fundraising page for our showcase.
Over the past two years, we’ve been developing our skills as theater artists through rigorous training. We’ve strengthened our voices, bodies, and spirits, with the goal of discovering who we are as artists and developing our own personal practice. We’ve also collaborated with the school’s highly talented M.F.A. directors, playwrights, and designers on full productions, staged readings, and scene work.
The showcase comes at an exciting time of year for us. As we wrap up our coursework and thesis performances, it’s a way to introduce ourselves to industry contacts in hopes of springboarding into the next stage of our careers.
But we need your help to do so!
What We’ll Do With Your Support
- Ensure both a filmed digital showcase and an in-person showcase with agents, managers, casting directors, and other industry professionals in attendance.
- Commission a developer to design and build our digital showcase website.
- Hire a professional director and crew to shoot each of our reels.
- Fund space and equipment rental for our in-person showcase event.
- Cover the cost of necessary marketing materials such as headshots, casting packets, and more.
Upon graduation, the eight of us are poised to transition from being students to being professional artists. The showcase is a crucial step in this journey, and a way for us to stand out in New York—one of the most competitive and important theater cities in the world—and beyond.
