Brooklyn Assault Relief Fund for Bree Trejo

Donation protected
Bree Trejo is a bright star. Her light shines, pours over, and connects people together. She is the hands that hold our friend group together. When learning Bree was attacked, our friends without question created this fund to help the woman who shows us her generosity regularly.

On Saturday, November, 13th, 2021 Bree was assaulted by two men. While waiting for her Lyft home around midnight in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, she and two of her friends (Pancho and Nicole) were standing on the corner of Bedford Ave and North 6th Street, when Bree leaned on a car, the wrong car. Two men, who have been described as 6’1” and 5’9”, both built, came out of the four-door, silver compact, angry. One of the men scolded Bree, screaming at her for leaning on his car. Bree apologized, and attempted to walk away. He followed her, taunting her. Nicole, tried reasoning with the other man, encouraging him to calm his friend down and that’s when the man punched Bree. Bree, with a petite and small frame of 5’3” and under 120 lbs, fell against the car, falling between the tires and gutter. Both of Bree’s friends then stepped in to try to help, but were also attacked for trying to intervene and help their friend off the ground. When Bree got up, the same man punched her again, knocking her unconscious.

After hours in the ER, Bree was released on Sunday. Her doctor at NYU Langone Health said Bree was lucky to come out with only a concussion, broken nose, and two black eyes, swollen shut from the attack. If you know Bree, she refuses to play the role of a victim. Daily she has taken steps towards her recovery. Our community in Brooklyn has taken turns caring for Bree, alongside with her Mom, Linda, who flew in from California. With help, continued unwavering support, and time, Bree will be OK. But she can’t do it alone. And that is where your help is needed and much appreciated.

The funds from this campaign will help to aid Bree with:
  • Impending hospital bills
  • Nose surgery
  • Post op visits
  • Neurologist visits

Bree Trejo is a freelance fashion consultant and designer. She was days away from launching her first line of sustainable clothing. So long as Bree is bedridden, additional funds will be used to help pay for food and rent. In the event that generosity exceeds Bree's expectations, remaining funds will be allocated to a charity of Bree's choosing.

Thank you for reading Bree’s story. We hope it is a reminder of how precious life is, and how quickly and in an instant the world around us can change. We are grateful for her safety and well-being after such a traumatic event. Please take care of yourselves and each other. And please help us return our fallen star back into the sky.

We are still searching for the men who did this on the night of November 13th, sometime between 11:45 P.M. and 12:10 A.M. If you have any information that may be helpful, please contact the organizer.

With gratitude,
Jess, Candice, Ashley, & Pancho
