Brooklinn Khoury's Recovery

On November 3rd, Brooklinn texted us to let us know she was bit on the face by a dog while in Arizona. Our immediate response was that she was joking or that it was a couple scratches, easily fixed with some Band-Aids. As the conversation progressed, we realized she was in the hospital and a large part of her lower face was completely bitten off.
As I write this, she is still in Arizona, hopefully returning to a hospital in California soon. The doctors in Arizona cleaned out the wound and have reattached the lower part of her nose. When she returns to California, she will begin a long journey with plastic surgeons to reconstruct her lower face. What we take for granted like smiling, speaking and eating are going to be a battle. We don’t know how long the recovery will take. But, we do know that she is scared and needs as much of our support as possible.
If you have ever met Brooklinn, you will know that she makes the entire world around her come alive and can transform a bad day into your best day ever. She is impulsive and wacky and absolutely beautiful. Her love for music borders on obsessive and her laugh and smile are uncontrollably contagious. She wears sweatshirts in the summer and shorts in the winter, buys the craziest thrift store clothes and somehow always looks beautiful. This girl is, without a doubt, one-of-a-kind amazing.
She would never ask for help. But, the last thing she needs to worry about are finances or paying for a more qualified plastic surgeon.
The world is a mess. We can’t afford to lose her smile too. Please help.
