Hello everyone. Thank you for taking the time to hear our story. Devon is a dedicated hard working family man with a blended family of 6.
Jameson had to be taken to the NICU right away. The baby tested positive for covid19. He has not had any symptoms of being sick but they have to keep him at the hospital to monitor him closely.
My son, Devon and his girlfriend Keiona were expecting their new baby boy in only a few weeks time when they were struck with covid19.
Keiona developed severe covid19 symptoms and was hospitalized on Friday, December 4. She was struggling with regulating her oxygen level. Keiona's health was declining quickly from covid19 and doctors made the decision to induce her labor. Devon is also covid19 positive and is sick. He was unable to attend the birth of his son. Keiona had to deliver the baby without any family or friends.
On Tuesday, December 8, a beautiful little boy named Jameson Dean was born to Devon and Keiona.
Jameson had to be taken to the NICU right away. The baby tested positive for covid19. He has not had any symptoms of being sick but they have to keep him at the hospital to monitor him closely.
Unfortunately, after the birth of their baby, Keiona's health took a turn for the worse. She is in the ICU fighting for her life. She had to be put on a BIPAP machine and she is at the maximum oxygen level. The doctors are discussing the option to intubate.
Devon is unable to work right now due to his covid19 diagnosis. The newborn baby will be home this week from the hospital without his mommy.
They will need a lot of help in the coming weeks and months. With the baby being born early, they were unable to gather baby supplies to help with his needs. Once Keiona comes home from the hospital, she will need around the clock care for all of her daily needs. Devon will be taking care of her along with the other children. The loss of wages due to this medical emergency will prevent them from taking care of their basic needs such as rent, utilities and food. They will also have a lot of hospital bills and other medical expenses they will need help to cover.
One other request we have is to pray. Pray for healing. The kids need their momma to recover quickly and be well.
