Hi everyone! Brooke, here.. I am feeling so thankful and blessed to have the opportunity to study abroad in London this upcoming May! During my time as a student at Kennesaw State University, I have been lucky enough to find a career path that brings me joy every single day. As many of you know, I am a member of the Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program. (Never heard of it? Check out our recent feature on Fox 5 Atlanta for more info!) This program has single-handedly changed my life by providing me with life-long friends, mentorship, real-world connections, job opportunities, and so much more.
My time as a student is nearing an end, and it's almost time for me to make my debut in the real world. But before that happens, me and 25 of my favorite people are embarking on an epic 2-week trip to London. On this trip, I will get to explore the city's rich musical heritage from the perspective of the entertainment business. I've included some of the highlights of the trip below:
- Develop a digital marketing strategy inside the Sony Entertainment boardroom to launch an emerging UK artist in the US.
- Learn from Sony executives, including Simon Cowell's marketing team.
- Visit Tileyard Studios, the World's largest community of independent artists and entertainment businesses.
- Travel on the UK Avanti bullet train to the historic city of Liverpool and walk in the footsteps of the Beatles.
- Study London's political culture with an insider's tour of the Houses of Parliament, including a face-to-face meeting with a Member of Parliament.
- Experience London's music culture first-hand with visits and projects at Abbey Road Studios, Royal Albert Hall, O2 Arena, Theatre shows, live music showcases, and much more!
If you all could only see the smile that I can't seem to wipe off my face following my acceptance into the program... This trip is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am so blessed to have the chance to immerse myself in a new culture.
