Brooke's Journey: Overcoming Brain Injury
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brooke, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support during the most challenging time of my life.
Back in March, I suffered a traumatic brain injury at work when several heavy objects fell from a high shelf and struck my head. Since then, my life has changed completely. I am now dealing with swelling of the brain, a buildup of fluid (inter-cranial hypertension), vision issues, constant pain, and severe cognitive challenges that affect my daily functioning.
I’ve been under the care of multiple doctors and specialists since the injury, and it’s become clear that I won’t be able to return to work for the foreseeable future—likely for the rest of the year.
Because of this, I’m struggling to keep up with basic living expenses like rent, bills, and medical costs not covered by insurance. Also with the encouragement of my local doctors, I am trying to get to Barrows Neurological Institute to be treated by specialist that specifically treat intercranial hypertension and traumatic brain injuries like mine.
I’ve always worked hard and tried to take care of things on my own, but right now, I truly need help.
Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward:
- Rent and utilities
- Medical bills and ongoing treatment
- Transportation to and from doctor’s appointments
- Basic necessities during recovery
If you're unable to give, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean the world to me.
Thank you for reading my story and for standing with me during this incredibly difficult journey. Your kindness gives me strength and hope.
With gratitude,
Brooke
