Brooke’s funeral expense for her father

Hello! My name is Sarah Worthington and I am looking to raise 8k for my best friend Brooke Nelson.

Brooke is not the kind of person to ask for help, especially financially, but rather is a giver. During Covid she was in medical school studying to become a Physician Assistant (PA). She recently graduated as a PA and a week before she started her new job as an ER PA, her father passed away extremely suddenly without any life insurance.

Her father was a very kind man, who unfortunately did not have much money or other assets, but whatever little he had he gave to others, something Brooke got from him. With the few dollars he had left at the end of the month he would still drop off food and little gifts to Brooke and even stocked her Fiancés freezer with food.

Unfortunately, Northern Virginia is an extremely expensive place to live. Costs for a funeral and cremation are by extension unbelievably expensive. Even choosing some of the most cost-effective options, the expenses are upwards of 15,000 dollars and even after some generous gifts from family, and church members the remaining amount would drain all of her savings before she begins work. On top of that, she has her student loans from medical school and a will be getting married to her fiancé Hunter in May of next year so funds are already extremely tight for her.

Unfortunately, her father had no real assets, and the cost of the funeral will not be the only unexpected expense from this deep loss. Any assistance, even a few dollars, that you can provide her and her family at this time is greatly appreciated.
