Most of you know my sister, Brooke McKell Larsen. In 2010, she had her first open-heart surgery(valve repair), which under normal circumstances would hopefully last for fifteen years. Unfortunately, it only lasted 7 years. Her second surgery was last November 2017. She went to the Cleveland Clinic-the nations #1 Cardiac Care Hospital for a second attempt at valve repair. After returning, and going through the recovery process, it was determined that the repair was not successful and she needs a heart valve replacement. She is scheduled to go back to Cleveland for her third open-heart surgery on July 17th-just 7 1/2 months since her last surgery.
Even with insurance, the medical bills are mounting(not only from her surgery, but also Kole's three-year ongoing leg surgeries), this has been a tough road for their family physically, emotionally and financially. Brooke has not been able to work for the past 18months. As a result, they have exhausted their savings. She, John and the boys have stayed positive and tried to move forward after each medical setback, but it has taken its toll.
Brooke and John are great people and have lots of friends and family. They really appreciate all of the help and support they have received from their Ward, family and friends while she has been trying to recover these last seven months. Their Ward has been especially generous in providing ongoing meals during her recovery.
We have created a GOFUNDME account to help with their mounting bills. We ask that you help rally around this fantastic family and contribute to their Gofundme account. (gofundme.com/brookemlarsen-wonderwoman). Please feel free to share this message with any friends or family. THANK YOU!!!
