I am excited to announce that I have made it through the first round of the Miss California USA pageant! The esteemed competition provides a platform for young women to be heard by their peers and make a real difference in their communities, both of which are important aspirations of mine. By participating in the pageant, I wish to support youth groups and have a positive impact on the conversations around bullying and body image.

As an adolescent I experienced bullying and negative experiences in relation to my appearance, but I worked hard to overcome my insecurities and realize that true beauty comes from within – and in all shapes, sizes, forms and colors. My weight loss story is one that I’m extremely proud of and wish to share. Not only did I lose weight, but I boosted my confidence, inspired my friends and family, and more importantly learned to treat my body as my temple.

I truly cannot wait for the opportunity to inspire others to be the best versions of themselves, and I greatly appreciate your support as I embark on my Miss California USA journey! Please donate to help me attend the first competition in Long Beach, CA on December 4-6.
