Brooke’s Bravery!
“A Hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Christopher Reeve
Meet Brooke. OUR HERO. An extraordinary mother to the most adorable kiddo around, Kieran, aged 3, her special K and ❤️ amazing wife to Todd. A daughter, a sister, a cousin, a friend and the list goes on. Brooke is the most kind, giving, selfless, human we know. Too proud, too humble, too grateful and too stubborn to even consider asking for help. So we are doing it for her.
Brooke’s journey began on November 22, 2018 with a devastating diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Brave and determined she forged through numerous medical appointments, tests and surgeries: 3 lumps in her breasts were removed during a double mastectomy, 12 lymph nodes were removed during sentinel node biopsy (2 of which tested positive for cancer), 8 rounds of chemo, 25 rounds of radiation and a total of 4 surgeries.
Whew!!!
On May 15, 2019 she was deemed cancer free.
O H W A I T !........……. not so fast.
Barely able to catch her breath, on October 31, 2019 following a CT scan, she was diagnosed with with Stage 4 Breast Cancer with liver cancer metastasis. Hero battle round #2 begins. Oral chemo-therapy, intravenous chemo-therapy, Radio frequency ablation and many numerous non-traditional medical treatments, the F I G H T was on!!!
Unfortunately her journey with cancer has been less than uneventful. A road filled with medical detours, bumps, stop signs, yield signs, caution signs and roadblocks, yet she only sees the sunshine and dances in the rain.
In-spite of it all she continues with courage, with fear, with hope, with strength and with determination. Never complaining, only giving. Giving her love and support to others even in times when she needed it more! That’s Brooke. OUR HERO!
She needs us now more than ever as she conquers one more detour. One more bump in the road. We are heartbroken to say her cancer has progressed despite all her efforts, all her courage and all her faith. As her doctor so eloquently says, It’s not the end, just a pause in the treatment plan.
Unable to return to work for nearly 2 years the financial strain and stress is becoming overwhelming. If you are able, please consider donating to ease the financial stress and worry and allow Brooke to continue to focus on her Healing and Recovery!
We all know someone who is a hero. Someone we inspire to be. Someone we admire. Someone we believe in. Someone we love. Someone we are so incredibly grateful and blessed to have in our lives. BE BROOKE’S HERO!
If you can, please, please share We love you Brooke! You got this! ❤️
