We are asking for your help for our dear friend, Brooke, who, at just 47 years old, has had her life changed in an instant after suffering a devastating stroke.

Brooke is facing an incredibly difficult road ahead. She now faces an extended hospital stay, during which she will undergo intensive rehabilitation to regain her strength, cognitive function and independence. In addition to her rehabilitation, Brooke is facing further complex surgery, adding another layer of uncertainty, expense and emotional strain to an already overwhelming situation.

This has not only changed Brooke’s life — it has profoundly impacted her family. Mark is navigating the enormous emotional and practical challenges of supporting the woman he loves while trying to manage the responsibilities of everyday life. Blake is also having to come to terms with seeing his mum face such a life-altering journey.

For a family who never expected to find themselves in this position, the road ahead is daunting. With Brooke unable to work, the financial pressure is significant, while the costs associated with rehabilitation, surgery, medical care, travel and day-to-day living continue to mount.
